Itinerary


Trip Itinerary:

  Day 01 Arrive Urumqui – Kashgar (flight)
Arrive Urumqui and late afternoon flight to Kashgar.
Transfer to the hotel for overnight.
 
  Day 02 Kara-kul Excursion
Day excursion to Kara-kul enjoying the several view points including BulunKul, SandMountain (Kum Tag), an old KarawanSaray, the Red Mountain (or the Flamming Mountain), Muztagh Ata (7554 m).  Kongur (7719 m). Arrive and hike around the lake, visit Kirghiz Yurt. Later return drive to Kashgar.
Overnight at hotel
 
  Day 03 Kashgar
Sightseeing in Kashgar to includeSunday Bazar, Eidgah Mosque, Handi Craft Street, Tomb of AbakhKhoja and the Old town. Overnight at hotel.
 
  Day 04 Kashgar - Khotan
Drive to Khotan (about 10 hrs) with visit of Yarkand on the way, the Yengsar knives workshop, King’s Mausoleum and Altun Mosque. Overnigh at hotel.
 
  Day 05 Khotan – Taklamakan    
Visit workshops weaving Uygur Silk (Atlas) and Bazar. Later camel ride to Taklamakan (The Desert of Death or the place of no return) , The night will be spent in Taklamakan Desert.
 
  Day 06 Taklamakan – Khotan    
Enjoy the sunrise in the desert. Return to Hotel in Hotan. Later visit the ruins of Malika-awat and the Jade Carving Factory.
Overnight at hotel.
 
  Day 07 Khotan – Urumqi     
Morning flight to Urumqi. Transfer to the hotel. Later visit Xinjiang Museum. Enjoy special dinner with Uygur performance.
Overnight at hotel
 
  Day 08 Departure
Transfer to the airport for return flight.
