Itinerary


Trip Itinerary:

  Day 01 Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi and transfer to the hotel. If time permits take a stroll through Delhi's Old Town. Overnight at hotel
 
  Day 02 Delhi – Phuntsoling
Flight to Bagdogra, later drive to the border at to enter Bhutan at Phuntsoling. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel for overnight
 
  Day 03 Phuntsoling – Paro
Drive through the spectacular Himalayan foothills arriving in Paro in time to visit the Dzong.
 
  Day 04 Paro
We take a walk to visit the iconic Tiger's Nest monastery this morning and then explore the town
 
  Day 05 Paro – Thimpu
Leave early for Bhutan's capital and visit the Cultural Heritage Museum, Takin Park and the Dzong
 
  Day 06 Thimpu – Wangdue
Visit the WF supported Dechen Phodrung Monastery then drive the Dochu La Pass en route to Wangdue
 
  Day 07 Wangdue (Punakha excursion)
Punakha is 9km away and we take a beautiful walk on the way and then visit the small villages on return
 
  Day 08 Wangdue - Punakha – Wangdue
Return to Punakha today and walk around the villages
 
  Day 09 Wangdue – Bumthang
Cross a pass at 3390m over the Black Mountains to Trongsa before reaching Bumthang
 
  Day 10 Bumthang
A full day is kept to explore the spiritual heartland of this Himalayan Kingdom.
 
  Day 11 Bumthang – Mongar
The Thumshing La Pass is the highest driveable with a possibility of sighting a Red Panda en route to Mongar
 
  Day 12 Mongar – Trashigang
Continue to Trashigang to the  remote hillside guesthouse, run by the local monastery
 
  Day 13 Trashigang (Rangjung)
Visit a beautiful nunnery and walk through fields to see traditional raw silk dying and weaving
 
  Day 14 Trashigang – Samdrupjongkhar
Leave the mountains behind and drive to the border town of Samdrupjongkhar for the final night in Bhutan
 
  Day 15 Guwahati – Delhi
Cross the border back into India, drive to Guwahati and fly back to Delhi this afternoon for overnight at hotel
 
  Day 16 Delhi – Departure
Transfer to the airport for return flight
